Greene King adds sweetner to tenants' price hikes
Greene King is increasing drinks prices by an average of 3.8% for tenants from next month, although prices have been frozen on some major brands.
It follows news that Enterprise is also raising prices by an average of 3.8%, while Punch is adding 3.3% on average.
Greene King Pub Partners managing director Simon Longbottom said: "We have frozen prices on a number of key products including Old Speckled Hen, Carlsberg, some spirits and packaged beers, and our own Giotto Wine range this year and therefore our licensees will not receive increases on these brands.
"Due to other price rises from all our major suppliers we have informed our licensees that the average price rise they will incur is 3.8% from next month."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company said prices for lessees will rise in line with the wholesale prices from brewers.
