Best Bar None has been credited with helping anti-social behaviour drop dramatically in Walsall.

Latest figures show that the number of incidents in the town have fallen from 17,500 in 2009 to 14,000 last year, with partnership approaches such as the responsible retailing scheme being hailed for the change.

The figures were revealed as the Queslett pub in Walsall was named as this year's overall winner at the town's Best Bar None awards.

Councillor Adrian Andrew said: "These awards are all about helping people to feel confident about the places they are visiting when on a night out by showing that they are operating responsibly and that they are committed to helping reduce alcohol related crime across the borough."

In total 23 licensed premises made the finals of the event which was held at Walsall Football Club last week.
