Wetherspoon set to open 11th Glasgow pub
JD Wetherspoon is set to open its 11th pub in Glasgow after securing a site at Queen Street station.
The managed pub operator is planning to invest £600,000 in developing the former Europa Bar & Grill.
It acquired the lease through Christie + Co for an undisclosed sum from Carlo Citti, which operates a further four late-night sites in the city. The freehold is owned by Network Rail.
"We have enjoyed great success with our pubs in Glasgow and believe that our new outlet will be an asset to the city's social scene," said chief executive John Hutson.
An opening date has not been set.
