Punch pays £3,000 compensation after pub injury
Punch Taverns has paid out £3,000 in compensation to a girl who fractured her finger at one of it's Staffordshire pubs.
Seven-year-old Caitlyn Ratcliffe needed hospital treatment after trapping a finger in a storage cupboard door at managed pub the Plough Inn, Alsager, in February last year.
The accident happened at the pub's Wacky Warehouse when a member of staff moved away from a cupboard door, which automatically closed and trapped the girl's finger.
The payout comes after it emerged that three children have lost parts of their fingers in a toilet door at managed Punch pub the New Florence in Longton, also in Staffordshire.
"As a responsible operator, our main priority is to ensure that our pubs provide safe and welcoming environments for all our guests," said a spokesperson.
"A full internal investigation regarding this issue was completed and a resolution reached."
