Marston's training scheme recognised by BIIAB
Marston's Pub Company's licensee training scheme has won recognition from the BIIAB Good Practice Recognition Scheme.
The five-module scheme, called Stepping Stones, covers the industry, leadership, business development, process and finance.
It can also lead on to the BIIAB Level 2 Introduction to Licensed Retail Operations.
The latest programme teaches licensees for one day at Burton Brewery and covers the other fours modules in their own pub.
An unlimited number of staff can attend the programmes to help businesses get the maximum benefit from the course.
BIIAB deputy director Denise Thomson said: "The Marston's scheme is very well put together and the materials the company has produced are easy to read and work your way through.
"We look for integrity, validity and relevance when we are accrediting schemes. Strong training like this is essential to raise standards in the industry and give new licensees the best start in the business."
Around 60 candidates a month have completed the course since its launch in January.
It runs every Monday at the Burton Brewery and is open to all licensees and people considering a career in the industry.
