Marriage en masse at the pub
A freeholder is hoping her wedding plans go with at least 10 hitches as she bids to set a record for the most marriages in a pub in one day.
Rebecca and Will White are attempting to get 10 couples to tie the knot in Las Vegas-style ceremonies at their pub - the Full Moon in Morton, Nottinghamshire, on October 10.
So far seven couples have booked to say their vows on the day - the tenth day of the tenth month of 2010 - and she is looking for three more to walk down the pub's aisle.
And if all goes to plan the couple will set a record for the highest number of ceremonies taking place in a pub.
Rebecca said: "We are keen to get to 10 so if there are any licensees out there who want to get married maybe they can get in touch.
"It has proved to be popular for people who have been together for a while and want to get married but do not necessarily want to be the centre of attention all day."
The first wedding is booked for 12.15pm and the remainder will follow every half-an-hour.
After the ceremonies, guests will head to the bar, meaning the party - complete with Elvis entertainers and a casino at night - will get bigger and better as the day progresses.
The Full Moon received its civil ceremony licence in January 2008 and in the last year alone has hosted 30 special days.
And Rebecca said the wedding trade has been a big boost to business.
"It is so important these days to try new ways to get people in the pub.
"The great things about the weddings is you get lots of people in who have never been before and after enjoying the day they are often keen to come back."
