Pub becomes a part-time Post Office
A pub will be sending parcels as well as serving pints after beocming a part-time Post Office.
The Three Horseshoes at Brimpton, near Reading, is filling the void left by the village's own Post Office. Over the last eight years residents have had to travel miles for post services but will now have a postmistress at the pub twice a week.
Mike Holmes, licensee at the Arkells pub, said: "We were thrilled to be able to help and it's lovely to have our own postmistress across the bar."
And he added he hoped other plans to diversify the business would also bring in extra trade.
"We're also setting up a coffee club on post office days, offering coffee and home-made cakes."
