Orchid has bought the freehold of the Peeping Tom in Coventry and plans to convert the site to its Value Carvery format.

The Peeping Tom, a former Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company site, is set to close for around two weeks to undergo a refurbishment at a cost of around £100,000.

"It is a great location, a great size and has a big garden," said commercial director Simon Dodd.

"It already has an established business for carvery on a Sunday so we will investing in the building to bring it up a level. The carvery will be all day every day."

Orchid will also get its Diamond Club up and running at the venue, which offers those over 50 up to 25% off meals.

Orchid has a further nine sites currently awaiting completion over the next four weeks. "We will continue to look to acquire the right sites at the right levels," said Dodd.
