Leeds Majestyk for sale
Nightclub company Luminar has finally given up on turning its Majestyk nightclub in Leeds into a Las Vegas-style cabaret and casino complex — it has been put up for sale.
Luminar lost an appeal earlier this year against a decision to refuse a gaming licence.
The sale of the Majestyk comes after Dr Kevin Grady, director of the Leeds Civic Trust heritage watchdog, last month called for action to restore it to its former glory, claiming the building had become a "blot on the landscape".
The historic site was originally a 2,400-seat cinema in the 1920s, but has been disused since the club closed four years ago.
