Barworks, the London-based late-night operator behind the Electricity Showrooms in Hoxton Square, has acquired its 12th site.

The privately owned group has acquired the former Living Room site at Suncourt House, in Essex Road, Islington, for a nil premium. The 7,716sq ft site is set over a ground floor and a basement and includes outside seating and a 2am licence.

Shelly Sandzer handled the disposal, acting jointly with Richard Susskind & Co, on behalf of Derwent Valley. It is thought that the group could be converting the site into another Electricity Showrooms — its 1920s-

inspired bar operation.

Besides the original Electricity Showrooms, Barworks also runs five American-style diner restaurants, called the Diner, in central London. It also runs five other bars, four in London and one in Southend-on-Sea, in Essex.
