Novus Leisure, the late-night bar and club group, has appointed a new finance director to succeed Jane Holbrook, who is leaving the Tiger Tiger operator to pursue other ventures.

The group, which operates about 40 venues, has recruited Andrew Campbell, a former Spirit Group senior executive.

Holbrook, who is also a non-executive director at All Star Lanes, has decided to leave Novus after four years with the group, and will step down in the summer.

She told M&C Report that now was the right time, having completed last year's refinancing and with the business now on a sound financial footing.

During his time at Spirit Group — where he worked alongside Novus chief executive Steve Richards — Campbell served as finance director and corporate planning director. Richards was managing director of the group's 700-strong high street division before taking the top job at Novus.

Richards told M&C Report that Holbrook had played "a major role in shaping the business".

Of Cambell, who has already been working alongside Holbrook for three months, he said the company was "delighted to have secured such a high-calibre addition" to its senior team, and to have been able to conduct an orderly handover.

The appointment comes shortly after the recruitment of a new marketing director at Novus. Christian Poole joined the group, having worked at Hertz, Merlin Entertainment and Luminar.
