Spitfire stockists will all be in with a chance of winning the top prize - rent for a year up to £30,000.

And freeholders who enter can spend the cash on their pub mortgage or elsewhere within the pub.

The competition is part of Kent brewer Shepherd Neame's Operation Landlord campaign, which is designed to "give landlords the ammunition to drive sales".

Running throughout May, the competition is open to all Spitfire customers. Every cask will have the pub's postcode and a unique code which must be sent via text to enter.

There are 20 winning codes and the licensees who send them in will all be invited to the brewery in June for a live draw.

As well as the top prize the runners ups will receive prizes of £250 as well as Spitfire branded polo shirts.

On top of the competition Shepherd Neame will be encouraging pubs to stock Spitfire - which is celebrating its 20th anniversary - by providing new point of sale and launching an Operation Landlord website.

Spitfire marketing manager Mark Miller said: "Operation Landlord will help us build long-term relationships with licensees. We know pubs want to stock vibrant, active brands that engage with consumers and increase rate of sale.

"This campaign - including our new website and a social media strategy - is the first stage in a developing campaign to help licensees.

"We will continue with the tongue-in-cheek humour which Spitfire drinkers enjoy, and have devised this promotion to directly benefit our trade customers."
