A licensee is hosting a 'grilling' session for prospective MPs for his local area at his pub.

All party candidates for the Forest of Dean constituency have agreed to join licensee Tom Moran's political debates except Conservative Mark Harper, the current MP.

Moran said it is "disappointing" that Harper has declined to take part in the debate at the Courtfield Arms in Lower Lydbrook, Gloucestershire.

There will be four evenings, one for each remaining party, starting with Labour on 20 April.

Each candidate will give a 10 to 15 minute outline of their manifesto, followed by an open question-and-answer session.

Questions will not be vetted, giving licensees a chance to get some answers.

Entry is free but capped at 150 due to space limitations.

"We feel this is an excellent opportunity to really get some face to face answers before you decide your vote," said Moran.
