UK Pub Poker champion crowned
A joiner from Mirfield in West Yorkshire has been crowned Redtooth UK Pub Poker Champion.
Daniel Blackburn beat 384 poker players in the Redtooth national final at Nottingham's Dusk 'Til Dawn casino to walk away with £5,000 in prize money, a trophy and champagne.
Players had the chance to meet VIP guests and celebrity poker players including the ex-England player Teddy Sheringham and BBC TV's The Real Hustle star Jessica-Jane Clement.
During the 12-hour tournament, which finished at 12.30am this morning, Blackburn kept his concentration by playing his iPod.
"I won a few hands when Journey's Don't Stop Believing was playing so I played it over and over in the last few hands and it really kept me going. I can't believe I've won," he said.
Blackburn has been playing poker at his local pub, the Airedale Heifer in Mirfield for the last two years.
