Mitchells & Butlers has launched their first TV advertising campaign for Toby Carvery — a £2m campaign.

Mitchells & Butlers has launched their first TV advertising campaign for Toby Carvery.

The company is spending £2m advertising the 37-year-old brand's 133 sites.

The adverts are running throughout March and April on ITV and regional radio stations.

The advert shows people debating what makes the perfect roast dinner including an OAP graffiting a wall in support of pork and protestors demonstrating in support of roast beef.

A Jeremy Kyle-style debate sees a woman called Sue championing the cause of mash potatoes over roasted.

The advert states: "Can't agree what makes the perfect roast. But we can agree where to have it." The strapline is "Toby Carvery — just as it should be."

The TV campaign also invites viewers to join the "Great Roast Debate" and vote for their favourite roast on the Toby Carvery website and facebook page.

The brand's website features You Tube clips of customer's explaining their choice of favourite roast. Voters have the opportunity to win a 'Month of Sundays', 31 Toby Carvery vouchers of £50.

The brand has also launched a new menu which includes a two course carvery for £6.25 before 7pm Monday to Saturday.

For £1 extra customers can also choose from a selection of starters, puddings or drinks.

Special themed dishes are being offered along with the carvery from Monday to Saturday after 7pm.

Monday night is BBQ night with dishes including sausages in a Jack Daniel's glaze. Tuesday is hearty dish evening featuring dishes including chicken and tarragon cobbler. Wednesday and Thursday are curry nights with dishes including beef handi.

A bottomless custard jug is also being offered with hot puddings, which is topped up for free.
