Karaoke specialists Lucky Voice are licensing their equipment for use in pubs — so far they have had interest from several pubcos.

Lucky Voice, the Soho karaoke bar co-founded by lastminute.com creator Martha Lane Fox, has revealed expansion plans which would allow pubs to use the brands equipment.

The chain, which also has bars in Islington and Brighton, as well as booths in Tiger Tiger outlets in Manchester and Cardiff, has just signed a deal with tenpin bowling specialist Essenden.

Nick Thistleton, Lucky Voice's managing director, told the Morning Advertiser that several pubcos had already declared an interest.

The average cost of the karaoke equipment per pub would be around £1,500, but Lucky Voice would also provide specialist advice on how to build and design soundproofed karaoke rooms, like those found in its own outlets.

"Standard pub karaoke is a different product to what we do. Many more people sing in a room with friends than would in a bar full of strangers," said Thistleton.

He said that venues could use the service to drive revenue by charging for the use of the karaoke room. "It should also result in increased drink spend", he added.

"Sharing our knowledge is a natural next step for the brand and we welcome the opportunity to discuss both co-branded and white label partnerships with organisations that want to deliver a premium karaoke solution to their customers."
