Mercat Bar in Edinburgh is UK's Most Loved Pub
The Mercat Bar in Edinburgh has been voted the UK's Most Loved Pub, following a two-week survey by TheBestOf.
The survey also found the pub is also the second Most Loved Local Business in the country.
Owner Graham Blakie bought the Mercat Bar in 2005 and transformed it into a gastropub with "first class food", "excellent service" and "friendly live bar".
More than 138,000 votes were cast for 300,000 businesses of all types across 400 towns.
"It is fantastic to have received so many testimonials and see how much our customers appreciate the great food on offer and the welcoming atmosphere," said Blakie.
The Wildmoor Oak Pub & Restaurant in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire is the UK's second Most Loved Pub and the Miners Arms in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire came in third.
