Chameleon expands estate to seven
North of England-based pub operator Chameleon Pub Company has increased its estate to seven by buying the long leasehold of Greaves Park in Lancaster, Lancashire from Whitbread.
The Grade II listed pub, which sits in parkland outside Lancaster, features a total of 170 covers spread across five different sections and a number of private dining rooms. It also includes a 110-cover beer garden and staff living accommodation.
Property agents Christie & Co and Gerald Eve acted jointly to sell the 999-year lease on behalf of Whitbread. The guide price for Greaves Park was £850,000.
The pub originally traded as a Brewers Fayre until it was refurbished as a Table Table two years ago. All of the pub's current staff have been invited to stay on with the new business.
Greaves Park is part of a package of four pubs, which Christie & Co and Gerald Eve were instructed to jointly market by Whitbread at the start of August last year. The Nevill Crest & Gun near Tunbridge Wells, which was also part of the package, was sold to Brunning & Price last November
Gerald Eve partner Chris Ford said: "After our sale of Nevill Crest & Gun at the end of last year to Brunning and Price, part of The Restaurant Group, we were very pleased to see another up and coming pub group buy Greaves Park.
"This is further evidence that pub companies are once again getting more active in the market and seeking out good freehold and long leasehold opportunities."
