Enterprise Inns chief executive Ted Tuppen received a pay package of £811,000 for 2009, including benefits and bonuses, according to the company's annual report.

Tuppen received a basic salary of £640,000, £24,000 in benefits and £147,000 in a performance-related bonus.

Tuppen's salary included a supplement of £160,000 in lieu of a contribution to his personal pension scheme. His total remuneration for 2008 was £634,000.

Chief operating officer Simon Townsend received a basic salary of £384,000, £22,000 in benefits and a performance-related bonus of £69,000 — giving a total of £475,000. Townsend received £96,000 by way of a salary supplement in lieu of a contribution to his personal pension scheme. His remuneration for 2008 was £397,000.

Finance director David George was paid a basic salary of £384,000, £23,000 in benefits and a performance-related bonus of £69,000 making a total of £476,000. He received a salary supplement of £96,000 in lieu of pension contributions. George's remuneration for 2008 was £414,000.

A statement from the remuneration committee said the bonuses paid "reflects the part achievement of challenging personal objectives during the year which have been measured objectively by the Committee."

The bonuses will be paid as deferred share awards.
