Tattershall rewards top pub managers
Sandy Castle of the Fatling & Firkin in Hornchurch has been crowned Tattershall Castle Group pub manager of the year.
Castle was praised for delivering "major sales and profit growth" for the third consecutive year, training and mentoring upcoming managers and taking a lead role in the local Pubwatch.
"Sandy is an outstanding manager and an inspiration not only to her pub team, but to every existing and aspiring manager in the company," said TCG chief operating officer Nigel Wright.
"To achieve this level of success during a recession says everything about her ability and commitment. She thoroughly deserves to win the top Award this year."
David Ford, TCG chief executive, said: "In these difficult times for the industry, it's good to see that talented managers are still able to deliver very impressive results. Whatever category Award they've won, all the managers here today share a will to succeed and a commitment to their pub and their teams. It is a real pleasure to reward these outstanding individuals, upon whom TCG's future success depends."
