A group of disgruntled pubco licensees threatening to stage a mass rent and beer boycott have appointed "regional co-ordinators" to help promote their cause and smashed the 1,000 supporter barrier on its Facebook group.

The Pub Revolution group has also changed its name to the Pub Revolution Movement, since forming earlier this month.

The group now claims its membership represents 10 per cent of the UK's tenanted pub market.

A separate Facebook page to the group's main page has also been set up for supporters of the cause.

A statement said: "The Pub Revolution Movement is proud to support more individual trading tenants than any other industry group that professes to serve tenant's interests.

"The 'noisy minority' will not be ignored and are focused, willing and ready for direct action."

Though the group does not identity individual pub companies, Enterprise Inns issued a statement previously criticising the group for its "threatening actions".

An Enterprise spokesman said: "The vast majority of our hard-working licensees continues to trade well and will share our disappointment that a small group of anonymous individuals have once again, distracted attention from the significant efforts being made by the industry to deal with the current economic challenges, by threatening actions that may constitute a deliberate breach of contract."
