BII honours exceptional trainer
The winner of this year's BII Bill Hannon Award for an exceptional contribution to the industry has been presented with the prize.
Mike Connell of Grappenhall, Warrington, received his award at a recent BII North West Regional event at Haydock Park from Steve Howe, BII director of membership, and Neil France, BII North West regional chairman.
The award recognises Mike's dedication as a BII approved trainer and long-term BII member.
Mike, a training consultant and former training manager for Blackburn-based Daniel Thwaites, said: "The timing of this award is perfect as I've recently left Daniel Thwaites to embark on a freelance consultancy career and it's great to receive this recognition just as I've launched my own business."
John Melia, BII client development director, who nominated Mike for the award, said: "Mike has been a member of BII for some years and is a former BII NITA Professional Trainer of the Year.
"He managed the BIIAB approved training centre at Daniel Thwaites Brewery for a number of years, delivering a variety of BIIAB courses to licensees and staff. Throughout his time there, he has always been fully supportive of BII and its principles of raising standards."
