Tory MP holds office in JDW pub
Conservative MP and Shadow Minister for the Enviromnent, Anne McIntosh, held an hour-long surgery at a Wetherspoon's pub in Thirsk, in her north Yorkshire constituency.
The MP for the Vale of York met with constituents at The Three Tuns Hotel, who were able to speak to her, by prior arrangement, asking questions and raising issues and concerns face to face.
"I am delighted and grateful to Wetherspoon for hosting such an excellent and central venue for my regular surgeries," she said.
"It is important for constituents to have easy and regular contact with their Member of Parliament and Wetherspoon provide a warm and friendly location. I do hope to be able to use the facilities again.
"Wetherspoon is providing a great facility for Thirsk at The Three Tuns Hotel and I congratulate them on integrating well into the local community in such a short space of time."
The Three Tuns Hotel pub manager Matt Creighton (pictured with Anne McIntosh) said: "We were delighted to host the MP's surgery here as it gives local people an opportunity to meet with her in friendly and familiar surroundings."
