S&N to sponsor Kent's Big Quiz
Scottish & Newcastle is to sponsor the Big Quiz in Canterbury.
The quiz will be re-branded the No Nonsense quiz, taken from the John Smith's slogan, as part of the deal.
S&N will donate beer and cider to be sold to raise money for charity at each of the four big quiz venues.
It will also provide a venue for the final in December and staff to man the bars at events to aid fund-raisers.
In addition, Coca Cola and Britvic have greed to support the event by donating soft drinks that will be used to keep quiz goers refreshed as they tackle brain-teasing questions.
The quiz takes place at Kent University's Sports Centre on Friday 1 May.
Event organiser Simon Dolby said: "Having Scottish and Newcastle on board will make this important charity event all the more successful. Calling it the No Nonsense quiz is so appropriate because that is exactly what we are setting out to achieve this year."
Scottish and Newcastle regional manager Ian Dray said: "This is an excellent opportunity to involve our brands with important community causes and show our support for the charities that matter to the people of Kent."
