Pub chef claims Yorkshire pudding record
Award-winning publican and chef Paul Clerehugh is claiming the world record for Britain's tallest Yorkshire pudding.
Paul, lessee at the Crooked Billet, Stoke Row, Oxfordshire created his super-sized Yorkie live on the television programme Market Kitchen.
He was up against 40 of the country's best known chefs, including James Martin and Dominic Chapman - head chef at the Royal Oak in Paley Street, Berkshire, owned by Michael Parkinson and his son Nick.
Paul's 22cm pud surpassed James Martin's previous record of 12.5cm.
Paul admitted: "I was worried about achieving a good rise in front of a television audience - I've managed 24cm at home."
Paul's recipe includes three large free-range eggs, 110g strong organic flour, 200ml skimmed milk, salt, pepper with the addition of two extra egg whites and a pinch of gelatine powder.
The Crooked Billet's Sunday roast was voted the best in Britain by readers of The Observer, and the pub hosted Kate Winslet's bangers and mash wedding reception.
Paul also owns London Street Brasserie in Reading.
