Robinson's set to auction four pubs
Robinson's Brewery is set to sell four freehold pubs at auction later this month.
The northern brewer hopes to earn between £400,000 and £480,000 from the sale.
The pubs that will go under the hammer are all vacant and include the Gardeners Arms, Dukinfield, Cheshire (guide price of £90,000 to £110,000); terraced pub the Park Tavern, Macclesfield, Cheshire (guide price of £100,000 to £120,000); the Anchor Hotel, Lindal, Ulverston, Cumbria (guide price of £110,000 to £130,000); and the Saracens Head Hotel in Denbigh, Clwyd (guide price of £100,000 to £120,000).
The Anchor Hotel is in a residential area two miles from Ulverston and four miles from Barrow-in-Furness. The bar and kitchen are on the ground floor, while three-bedroom owner's accommodation is on the first floor.
Brewery director William Robinson said the sales were part of the "natural churn of pubs in order to maintain the quality of the estate".
"We use auctions because we find it is a good route to market," he added.
The pubs will be auctioned by Pugh & Company at Manchester United Football Club on 26 February. None of the Robinson's pubs at this sale have restrictive covenants attached that would prevent them from being reused as pubs.
