'Drunken thugs to be given Asbos'

Drunken thugs will be given booze Asbos from next summer in a crackdown announced today. Drinking Banning Orders that stop yobs going into pubs and clubs for up to two years were introduced in 2006 - but are yet to be widely used. The credit crunch has taken the fizz out of champagne sales which have shown their first major fall for two decades. The latest figures from France's champagne wine board, the CIVC, show a 23 per cent fall in the number of bottles leaving the main cellars in October, compared with the same month a year earlier. Pub and club-goers are being offered chlamydia home test kits in an effort to get more under-25s tested. The trial is being offered in three areas in London - central Ealing, Southall and Greenford. If it is successful it will be rolled out across the UK - BBC News​
