Celebrity pub start-up comes to Channel 4
It may not replace Premier League football as a pub spectacle, but the new TV series featuring actor Neil Morrissey's efforts to open a pub starts on Channel 4 this week.
A TV documentary crew followed Morrissey and his business partner, chef Richard Fox, for six months.
The resulting TV series 'Neil Morrissey's Risky Business', chronicles the refurb and reopening of the pair's pub, Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn at Marton-cum-Grafton, North Yorkshire.
To make things even more interesting, a brewhouse was added in the grounds of the pub, with the series also featuring the launch of Morrissey Fox Blond Beer.
At the pub's opening this summer, Morrissey, best known for his role in 'Men Behaving Badly', told ThePublican.com: "Pubs are very important, they should be at the heart of communities. This village only has the pub and the post office left, and our first priority is to restore the pub's place at the centre of village life."
- The first episode of 'Neil Morrissey's Risky Business' is shown at 10pm on Tuesday October 28 at 10pm. Morrissey Fox Blond Beer is available to the on-trade through Waverley TBS.
