JDW employee nets highest health & safety score
A JD Wetherspoon (JDW) employee has scooped an award for achieving the highest standards in a health and safety exam.
JDW retail director John Hall was awarded first prize by the Royal Society for Public Health after achieving the highest standard in its Advanced Diploma in Health and Safety in the Workplace examination.
Hall is one of a team of retail auditors, who visit all JDW pubs on a regular basis to check food hygiene and health and safety standards.
He was presented with his certificate and prize at the headquarters of the Royal Society of Public Health in London.
"I am really pleased to have been awarded the certificate and prize," he said. "It reflects well on the standards that myself and my colleagues strive for during our inspections at the pubs."
JDW head of retail audit, James Ullman, added: "We have a team of 25 auditors who are out and about in the pubs every day checking food hygiene and health and safety standards.
"They also provide valuable advice to managers and staff on these matters.
"We are all very proud of John, as well as a number of other members of the team who scored distinctions and merits in their diploma exams."
