'Pub chain helps out licensees'

Ted Tuppen, the chief executive of Enterprise Inns has insisted that, while times undoubtedly are tough, the tenanted business model was far from broken and 83 per cent of its pubs were seeing earnings growth, helped by food sales. A Dundee pub has become the only one in Scotland to be named in the Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide for 35 years running. CAMRA said the Fisherman's Tavern in Broughty Ferry had been "a byword for quality and choice since 1827" - BBC News
A pub is doing its bit to boost the funds of a local school by donating cash from meals it sells. The Crown pub in Ealing Road, which has recently been taken over by the Sizzling Pub chain, is donating 50p from every sizzling platter they sell to Northolt High School. Pub manager Iain Biggar, said: "The school is raising funds to buy some new sports equipment and we hope that all our customers will get behind us in our support of this worthwhile cause." - Ealing Times
