The national hunt for the Racing Pub of the Year is under starter's orders once more.

The Publican has teamed up with Racing UK and race-goers' bible the Racing Post to launch a second search for the nation's favourite racing pub.

Does your pub go that extra furlong for its race-loving customers? Does it offer great days out at the races? Or is the atmosphere on race days in your pub simply yards ahead of the rest?

If so, then it's time to prove it by putting your business in line for the national accolade of Racing Pub of the Year - as well as a 50 inch plasma TV, a day out at the races and a trophy to mark the achievement.

Last year's winner, the Engineer in Brighton, picked up the top prize after wowing judges with its dedication to racing, offering a multitude of race events and days out for customers.

Licensee Phil Reeves said the title had made a real difference to the business over the past 12 months.

"Wining the Racing Pub of the Year award has been a huge boost for our pub," he added.

"We've had customers coming from all across the south to sample the atmosphere in the Engineer on a race day. I will definitely be entering the competition again this year - I'm out to defend the title!"

Entries are being invited now, via the internet or by post - as well as Publican readers being asked to nominate their own pubs, readers of the Racing Post are being urged to put forward their own favourite boozer.

Six regional winners will be crowned, before one overall winner is picked out and crowned with their prize in November.
