BII Helps The Hospitality Industry Springboard To Success
BII is sponsoring the 'Corporate Citizenship' category of the 2008 Springboard Awards for Excellence. The esteemed awards are run by Springboard UK, which promotes careers in hospitality, leisure, tourism and travel to a range of potential recruits and influencers. The awards highlight the companies and people who lead the way in attracting, trainingand retaining the cream of the employment crop.
Now in their sixth year, the Springboard Awards for Excellence look for the companies, organisations and individuals who can demonstrate best practice in attracting and retaining staff. Anyone with an initiative or scheme that is working well in any of these areas is invited to enter. Anne Pierce, Springboard Chief Executive, commented: "By highlighting the very best with our awards we hope to raise the bar on recruitment and retention."
The awards are in three categories and the Corporate Citizenship Award sits in the Best Employment Practice Category. The other two are Promoting Careers and Attracting People. Individuals, teams or partnerships with relevant initiatives that have achieved high quality results over the past 12 months can make nominations.
BII chief executive John McNamara said of BII's decision to sponsor the Corporate Citizenship Award: "We've enjoyed a close working relationship with Springboard for several years now and our goals overlap considerably in terms of recruiting excellent people into the hospitality industry and providing routes for their ongoing training and development.
"As the professional body for the licensed trade with over 16,000 permanent members who each sign up to a code of conduct, we stand for social responsibility throughout the industry so we see the Corporate Citizenship Award as a good fit for our sponsorship."
Each award entry will have to meet specific set criteria, which may vary depending on the award. A short-list from each of the three categories will be drawn up and entries judged by a small panel chaired by a Springboard UK director.
Entries in each category will need to highlight the following, in no more than 750 words:
· A clear overall strategy
· The specific need the initiative was trying to address
· Clear Aims
· Innovation
· Achievement/results
· Evaluation
