Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn has appointed Marston's to distribute its beers in the UK from 1 September.

The deal with Marston's follows the Midlands brewer's acquisition of Refresh earlier this year. Refresh previously distributed Innis & Gunn's range of ales.

"Marston's are a highly respected company and we are pleased to be strengthening our relationship with them," said Innis & Gunn managing director Dougal Sharp.

"Our continuing goal is to further extend the distribution of our brand, and we have a great opportunity to do that in conjunction with Marston's."

Marston's director of national sales added: "Wychwood has distributed Innis & Gunn in the off trade since its launch in 2003, and we relish the opportunity, with our enlarged Marston's sales team, to build Innis & Gunn in the on-trade as well.

"We plan to develop Innis & Gunn's highly distinctive brand as part of our strategy to meet growing demand for great beers on both restaurant and bar lists, as well as continuing our work across the off-trade."
