A shining example
RESEARCH SHOWS that the condition of the loos is one of the biggest factors customers take into account when forming an opinion about a pub or bar, especially if they're thinking of eating there.
Pubs should not underestimate the impact that washrooms can have on customers, but it's an area that often gets overlooked.
That was almost the case at recently-opened Tom at 101, a bar and restaurant in Warrington, Cheshire. Co-owners Tom Rogers and David Seccombe decided soon after the re-opening that the 'facilities' needed a rethink.
David says: "When we renovated the washrooms we continued the high standard of design that had been employed throughout the rest of the venue. We wanted to ensure they left a good impression on our customers and reflected positively on the bar and restaurant as a whole."
Eco-friendlyThe venue uses seasonal and locally-sourced produce in the kitchen and was on the look-out for other ways in which it could be more eco-friendly. This ethos led David to Green Planet Solutions, which specialises in helping businesses reduce their environmental impact.
