A licensee is rolling out a novel grill concept — where dishes are brought to the table on volcanic rocks, cooked to customers' tastes — to his second Devon pub.

Howard Boulter will in-corporate the "Black Rock Grill" concept at the Deer Park Inn, Stoke Fleming.

He has bought the lease

at the pub in a deal brokered by Christie+Co.

The grill concept proved a success at the Leg o' Mutton in Yelverton, which Boulter has run for seven years.

A camping park was included in the sale of the Deer Park Inn, which is one mile from Blackpool Sands beach.

It includes an outdoor swimming pool and paddling pool, as well as a 60-cover restaurant, a 10-cover conservatory and a pool room.

Jon Clyne, of Christie+Co's Exeter office, said: "Historically the inn has traded as a family-friendly pub involved in the local community with a reputation for providing good quality, good value food and entertainment, but more recently was run under management.

"The Boulter family have more than 40 years' experience in the hospitality industry, including seven years at the Leg o' Mutton Inn, and are the ideal operators to enhance the business at the Deer Park Inn."
