Newspaper is produced in honour of pub
Regulars enjoy the banter at their pub so much that they have started putting it in print.
Quarterly publication The Harrowing Times, was set up in honour of the Harrow Inn in Steep, Hampshire, and features articles contributed by customers.
It is now onto its second edition and as well as raising a few laughs, with a cover price of '£1ish per issue' it has also helped raise hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Harrow Inn licensee Claire McCutcheon said: "It's great fun and it's just something that the regulars decided to get up and do themselves.
"I think anything that helps pubs like this has got to be good."
The community freehouse has been in The Good Pub Guide for 25 years and run by the same family since 1929. Claire now runs it with her sister Nisa.
The pair recently met the Queen at a Buckingham Palace reception for the hospitality industry.
This summer's edition of the Harrowing Times tries to return the favour by running a handwritten letter to 'Liz and Phil' asking them to visit the pub.
It also features spoof articles, poetry, a Dear Doctor section and the general musings by the customers.
Elaine Ballantine, sub-editor of the Harrowing Times, is delighted with the success of the title.
She said: "It provides regulars, or old farts as we call them, with an opportunity to untap their talents and write witty, unsmutty articles, covering all sorts of current affairs.
"From meagre beginnings, the readership has grown from 150 copies to 200+ in the space of just one issue."
