The second Euro 2008 semi-final takes place on Thursday (7.30pm, ITV1). Perennial underachievers Spain play a resurgent Russia side — and one of these two will play either Germany or Turkey in Sunday's final (BBC1, 6.55pm).

The Wimbledon fortnight is well underway. Or at least it should be, if the weather smiles on that particular leafy corner of London. The route to the men's singles final is paved with pitfalls for defending champion Roger Federer, who is in the same half of the draw as five former Grand Slam champions, including Novak Djokovic, Lleyton Hewitt and Marat Safin.

The top women competing for the Rosewater Dish this year include number one seed Ana Ivanovic. She'll face stiff opposition from the Williams sisters, seeded sixth and seventh. Last year's winner, Venus Williams will be bidding to win her fifth singles title at the All England club.

England host New Zealand in the fifth and final one-day international at Lord's cricket ground on Saturday. The tourists levelled the series 1-1 in the third match at the weekend (the second was a bad-weather washout). SS1 starts coverage at 10.30am.

In rugby league, England pay a visit to Toulouse to take on the French in a one-off Test (SS2, Friday, 7.30pm). They will be led by newly-appointed captain Jamie Peacock. All the players will be looking to justify their places in the squad ahead of the World Cup in Australia, which starts in October.

This week's top game: Sunday, 6.55pm

Euro 2008 Football Final: Germany/Turkey v Spain/Russia (BBC1)

It's been a while since Germany made it through to the semis — 1996 was the last occasion they were in the final four. Auspiciously, that was also the year they won. Joachim Low's side started the tournament as one of the favourites and the strength of their set pieces has helped them push through the knock-out stages. If Bastian Schweinsteiger and captain Michael Ballack again combine well to put away a few goals, Germany stand a good chance of going all the way.
