Plymouth to sponsor Ascot
Plymouth Gin will be sponsoring two days at Ascot next month, as well as becoming headline sponsor of the Plymouth Gin Summer Mile. The premium gin is sponsoring meets on 11 and 12 July and will have its own cocktail bar in the public paddock with Mixxit bar apprentices demonstrating new serves. Maxxium UK's brand manager for Plymouth Gin, Andrew Jack, said: "Having both been established in the 18th century, Ascot and Plymouth Gin are quintessentially English and the partnership is a fantastic opportunity to bring together people that love our product and also share a common interest."
Carlsberg spends £30m
Carlsberg has begun a marketing campaign based around beer-drinking occasions such as BBQs, long bank holiday weekends, UEFA Euro 2008 and Christmas. The adverts, which make suggestions for what a "Carlsberg BBQ" would be like, or what would happen "if Carlsberg did goal celebrations", are part of a £30m spend for the year to drive consumer demand for Carlsberg, Carlsberg Export, Carlsberg Edge and the DraughtMaster dispense system. Head of Carlsberg brands Paul Davies said: "Through research we have identified seven key beer-drinking and buying occasions that we will help our customers to maximise, across both the on-trade and take-home."
