Angostura's rum line-up
Angostura has launched a new rum range comprising three core rums in a £15m investment programme. The line-up will include: Angostura Reserva — a blend of rums aged for up to three years; Angostura Five Year Old (Anejo); and Angostura Seven Year Old (Gran Anejo). The launch will be supported by PoS, advertising and a PR campaign and will be distributed by Paragon Vintners.
Rosé Reserve on Ritz list
Charles Heidsieck has added a rosé non-vintage to its brand portfolio. This month, Charles Heidsieck Rosé Reserve, distributed by Maxxium, will be available exclusively at the Ritz as the official Champagne of the month, and will be listed on the main Champagne menu from next month onwards. Maxxium UK brand manager Janette Peat said: "We expect the Rosé Reserve to be a big hit this summer as consumer demand for rosé Champagne increases."
Broadland's new perries
Broadland Wineries is to launch a new brand called Belgars from its Norfolk headquarters. The fruit wine-maker is to produce a traditional "bag-in-box" perry as the first Belgars branded product.
Sales manager David Thornhill said: "We felt the market was ready for a standalone Broadland's product."
With an abv of 7.5% the perries (a medium dry and medium sweet) are available in three-litre boxes.
Developed specifically for the BBQ and summer market it is made on-site in Norfolk using natural yeasts and flavours and consumers are encourage to enjoy it over ice.
Distribution is through wine agent and importer Bottle Green with an RRP of £5.00..
