Nason adds value to agent GA-Select
Well-known trade stalwart Ken Nason has joined pub property firm GA-Select as associate director. Ken has more than 32 years of licensed trade experience, having owned pubs as a lessee with Greenalls, as a Mitchells and Butlers manager and acting as an independent mentor over the last six years, assisting licensees.
Graham Allman, managing director of GA-Select, said: "It is our strategy to take advantage of the current market position and to be ready for the market bend when those sitting on their hands decide to buy a pub. Ken's added expertise and networking ability will be of immeasurable value to the firm and its clients. When I was out with Ken recently, every vendor we've met has been impressed with his enthusiasm and positive approach to the current market."
Ken is based in Worcester and will represent the agent in the west Midlands, south Wales and down to the edge of the West Country.

Shakeshaft bows out of Kellogg's
The commercial head of Kellogg's Foodservice, Alan Shakeshaft, has announced he is to step down from his post after 36 years at the foodservice arm of Kellogg's.
Shakeshaft began his career in Kellogg's retail division in 1972. In 1992, he launched the foodservice division, employing 20 people.
He said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the UK catering industry for its support over the past 16 years since I launched Kellogg's foodservice division. I really have had an amazing career and will be sad to say goodbye to the many friends and colleagues I have worked with in the industry over the years. I am however looking forward to the relaxing time ahead."
Shakeshaft, who is due to retire officially at the end of May, is now looking forward to spending more time holidaying in France and Turkey, as well as enjoying plenty of quality time with his family and improving his handicap on the golf course.
A decision is yet to be made on Alan's successor, but an announcement will be made in the next month.
