The Top 100 movers and shakers in the bar industry were recognised last night by leading bar trade magazine Theme.

More than 150 top operators and bartenders attended a glittering ceremony at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London, at which the top 100 were unveiled, with the top 10 collecting their awards from presenters Tom Innes, Theme's editor, and broadcaster Nigel Barden.

Top of the list was Oliver Peyton, who was recognised for changing the face of the modern bar industry.

The top 10, as voted for by readers of Theme magazine, are as follows:

1. Oliver Peyton. For changing the face of the modern bar industry

2. Eric Yu. Breakfast Group founder.

3. Tim Bacon. Years of success for Living Room dweller.

4. Vince Power. Mean Fiddler impresario.

5. Sir Terence Conran. Mould-breaking restaurants.

6. Tom Estes. Mexican restaurants and global tequila ambassador

7. Shaun Clarkson. Outstanding, cutting edge design

8. Simon Difford. Drinks authority.

9. Henry Besant. Well-connected Worldwide Cocktail Club founder, bartender and operator.

10. Nick Strangeway. Bartender extraordinaire.
