My New Pub
The Royal Oak
Lower Farringdon, Hampshire
Agent: Howard Day Associates
Experienced and well-travelled pub manager Jason Tribe has just taken up the reins at this Home Counties pub. He will head up the site on behalf of husband-and-wife team Paul and Georgie Stuart who operate two other leasehold pubs in the area under the name Stuart Inns. The company is well known locally for its "longest day" beer festival over the summer solstice.
Tribe has 25 years' experience in the licensed trade, having worked all over the UK as well as overseas in places as far flung as the Middle East, the Far East, Australia and Canada. The Royal Oak, which is unopposed in the village of Lower Farringdon, underwent a comprehensive refurb at the beginning of the year.
Tribe said: "The pub has been transformed into an upmarket establishment based on traditional themes with an emphasis on natural materials including oak and natural stone flooring."
The free-of-tie pub offers six ales from local brewers including Ballard's Brewery, in Nyewood, plus a selection of wines and sprits.
The food offer is described as simple but upmarket English food.
The site sold off an asking price of £50,000
for the leasehold premium.
No trading information was available and the starting rent will be £40,000.
Twenty-five years remain on the privately-owned free-of-tie lease.
