Wellstead steps into corporate finance
Colin Wellstead, formerly director and head of public houses and restaurants at Christie+Co, has been appointed as a consultant for Landsbanki Securities, a provider of corporate and investment banking services in the UK and Continental Europe. He will work closely with the corporate-finance team to develop Landsbanki's business within the leisure sector.
Jonathan Brown, head of corporate finance for Landsbanki Securities, said: "Colin has developed an encyclopaedic knowledge of the UK pub and restaurant industry and has a tremendous ability to identify value-creation opportunities."
Wellstead said: "Landsbanki has a strong corporate-finance franchise with a successful track record, and I am looking forward to increasing our footprint within the sector."
Sheps appoints new production director
Kent-based Shepherd Neame has appointed Tom Falcon as production and distribution director. He will replace Ian Dixon, who is to retire in July. Falcon, 38, will join the brewer and pub operator in June from the Maersk Company, a national shipping firm, where he was director of strategy and process excellence.
Prior to Maersk, Falcon worked at AT Kearney, the management consultant. Shepherd Neame chairman Miles Templeman said: "I am delighted to welcome Tom to the company. We are confident that his experience, particularly in process excellence and transportation, will be of significant benefit to Shepherd Neame."
Christie+Co adds Owen to valuations
The Birmingham office of national property firm Christie+Co has appointed Bryn Owen to its valuation services team.
Owen began his career in residential estate agency before completing a degree in estate surveying at Nottingham Trent University and then gaining the Assessment of Professional Competence qualification while with Chesterton in Birmingham. For the last five years he was self-employed, concentrating on residential investment.
Andrew Bower, head of the valuation services team at Christie+Co's Birmingham office, said: "We are delighted to have Bryn join us, and with his knowledge and expertise we are confident he will prove a great asset to our team."
Malhotra heads for Constellation
Former InBev European general counsel Deepak Malhotra has resurfaced as general counsel of the European arm of US drinks brand owner Constellation.
Malhotra replaces former Constellation Europe general counsel Anne Colquhoun, who is retiring. He left InBev in January, and will be based at Constellation's Guildford offices.
"I'm very committed to the role of the legal function and the strategic development of the function in areas like learning and training," he said.
