1. Lean on Me

Bill Withers

Reminds me of my first date with my wife, Trish. I was in plaster and on crutches, after having been hit by a fork lift truck while carrying out a temporary job at St Anne's Board Mills in Bristol.

2. Unchained Melody/Moon River

Double A-side - favourite karaoke songs

Went to Houston, Texas three years ago and while there I recorded a CD of these songs.

3. Reach Out I'll Be There

Four Tops

Saw them live at Colston Hall, Bristol. In those days you were not allowed to stand up. You had to sit down through the entire performance.

4. Any song by Catherine Jenkins

Been to see her twice in concert. She is a stunning and very attractive woman (had a photograph taken with her after the recent England v Wales game).

5. Jerusalem

Reminds me of my 50th birthday when I celebrated by watching England win the Rugby World Cup in Sydney.

6. Matthew & Son

Cat Stevens

First 45 I ever purchased in the 1960s — cost 6s 8d.

7. Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd

I performed this psalm as a soloist eight times at eight weddings in one day and was paid 10d each time.

8. Mama Weer All Crazee Now

Slade

Reminds me of school days, scooters and mods and rockers.

9. Music of the Night

The Phantom of the Opera

Fantastic performances by Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman, the best show I have ever seen.

10. Wind Beneath My Wings

Bette Midler and others

First heard it performed by the duet Morning Glory at the Good Intent pub in South Bristol in 1985 and they are still performing it now.
