Tough times can help us, says Brulines
Brulines, the cellar monitoring equipment supplier, can take advantage of the tough market conditions in the pub sector, believes chief executive James Dickson.
As the group issued a trading statement in which it said profits for 2007 would be "marginally ahead" of expectations, Dickson told thepublican.com that in the current climate the need for pub companies to focus on operations rather than corporate activity would help his company.
"Given the tough state of the market - the perfect storm that everyone is talking about - there is an increased appetite for our services, particularly among regional brewers. Companies can use us to focus on their operations, as a diagnostic and data collection tool in their cellars," he said.
Dickson said trading in the second half of the year ending March 31 2008 had been "robust". That, Dickson added, meant the group was "in good shape with good demand from new and existing customers".
Brulines had made "further progress" with development of its beer and AWP monitoring technology, he said.
The Nucleus Data business, which Brulines acquired last year, had been integrated, with Nucleus' customers coming onboard its own technology platform, Dickson added.
Brulines' annual results will be announced on June 17 2008. The company meanwhile intends to change its name from Brulines Holdings to Brulines Group at its AGM, to be held in July.
