Pubs pass drunk stings campaign
Very few pubs or clubs sold to drunks or committed other offences during the Christmas crackdown.
Just 86 incidents were recorded during visits to 1,741 premises, which were suspected of being badly-run.
There were 53 incidents of sales of alcohol to a drunk.
Other offences included sales of alcohol to children (eight offences), unauthorised licensable activity (10) and allowing disorderly conduct (four).
There were three warnings, one licence review and one closure as a result of the campaign.
Noctis executive director Paul Smith said: "We are talking about a negligible number of targeted premises where incidents occurred."
Officers from 90 police units were involved in the Responsible Sales of Alcohol Campaign.
This saw undercover police planted in pubs to check for sales to drunks.
Smith said it is "heartening" that the Government flagged up the results of the February campaign to seize alcohol from youngsters on the streets more prominently.
Police seized 44,265 pints-worth of alcohol from children in this campaign.
"It's wasn't an insignificant amount of alcohol seized. It confirms what we've been saying for a long time - there's a lot of alcohol in the public realm."
