Scott's CV

BackgroundDavid Scott began his career at Greene King in 1999, working as assistant brand manager on Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale. He progressed into the managed house division as brand manager for Hungry Horse before becoming marketing controller for food.

His final role as liquor marketing controller included responsibility for growing the portfolio and developing marketing strategies for the 430 community and highstreet pubs.

Scott joined Carlsberg as the head of on-trade customer marketing in July 2007. He is responsible for overseeing marketing activity for independents and national customers.

Areas of expertiseScott's experience lies in developing strategies to get consumers into pubs and ultimately getting them to spend more money there. His years in the managed house sector help him understand the frontline reality of the hospitality industry.

Scott says: "My mantra for 'Get 'em In' is simple — make sure you get the basics right. The way to encourage consumers into pubs is to offer something different, delivering a high quality, consistent experience consumers know and trust. The next step is to grow the business by attracting new consumers and driving spend."
