Lovin' this month...
Musical menu covers
Old record sleeves for menu covers at the Globe in Brighton, East Sussex. Ever wondered what to do with the Muppets' A Christmas Together sleeve, after you've worn out the record? Well, the quirky folks at the Globe have made their old record sleeves into menu covers - easy to change, cost-free and something to read when your other half goes to the loo... brilliant.
Fab four
All our condiments in one place. It really is infuriating when you get back to the table and realise
you've forgotten the sauce.
Now all our eggs, or sauces really
are in one basket. And to make things ever better, Heinz and the "fab four" - Heinz ketchup, HP brown sauce,
Heinz English mustard and Heinz squeezy mayonnaise - is giving readers the chance to stay with another fab four, in the Hard Days Night Hotel, Liverpool.
For a chance to win, email heinz@proactivecompetitions.co.uk quoting
"FAB FOUR" in the subject bar.

Webcams
The Angel at Hetton's webcam
on its specials board. Customers
can log on to the pub's website
to check out all the dishes of the day.
The team decided that instead of a sample menu, they would give customers live updates on special dishes. You can't get much fresher than that.
Criterion Ices
Topnotch ice cream that licensees and chefs would be confident to serve on their menu if they don't have the time
or energy to make their own.
The clever chaps at Criterion have
also come up with yogurt ices which
will add an innovative twist to pub
menus, with flavours including raspberry, blackberry and
mango.
Chefs can use these amazing ice creams to complete desserts such as maple walnut ice cream on chocolate brownies; cinnamon
and honey ice cream on tarte Tatin and clotted cream ice cream on sticky toffee pudding.
Chef/restaurateur Mark Hix said: "Wow, what a great selection of flavours and ones you actually want
to eat, vintage marmalade - delicious - and the stem ginger - perfect."
