Marston's Pub Company has appointed a new team of business opportunity co-ordinators, to help provide a dedicated, fast and efficient service for its prospective retailers.

The team is headed up by Gill Richardson, who has over 20 years¹ experience in the licensed trade, including 13 years within HR and Training at Bass and similar roles at Trust Inns and Punch Taverns. Prior to that, Gill spent six years at Bedfordshire County Council, training and developing kitchen managers within the school meals department

She said: "Our aim is to put a human touch in to the recruitment process, so where possible we will provide prospective licensees with a sole point of contact from start to finish. This means they can build up a relationship with us and we can talk honestly and openly about the challenges ahead. Essentially it is our job to ensure that the application process is simple and straightforward and that we match the right tenant with the right business."

Other team members are Caroline Devitt, Lee Marney, Tanya Cudworth, Hayley Child and Sarah Hadfield. The new team has a combined 50 years¹ length of service in the pub trade, with over 30 years service at Marston's. Team members also bring valuable skills from the recruitment and estate agency sectors.

Marketing director, Andrew Cooney adds: "The new team will be regionally aligned to provide more focused support to applicants and BDM's. With the team on board we are in the process of completely reviewing how we attract and recruit retailers to the estate, plus looking at developing the letting tools we use to advertise our available pubs."

He added: "The latest tool we have introduced is a 360 degree virtual tour facility to our website, which is often used by estate agents and a great way to market pubs."
