The general manager of Inventive Leisure's flagship Revolution vodka bar in Leadenehall Market, which is facing being forced to close at 6.30pm after violent incidents, is rallying customer support.

Charlotte Kemp, the new general manager, has e-mailed customers asking them about their experiences at the venue.

She writes: "Our licence is currently up for review, which may result in Revolution Leadenhall having to close earlier in the evening. "If you enjoy Revolution Leadenhall and want to keep the current opening hours please complete our online questionnaire."

Roy Ellis, chief executive, said: "As a result of two incidents that led to injuries to customers, the senior management of Inventive Leisure have joined the City police and licensing authorities in conducting a review of operating and security procedures at Revolution Leadenhall." Ellis, who founded the company with business partner Neil Macleod in the 1990s, said he was confident that any issues would be resolved.

Inventive, backed by Alchemy Partners, spent £2m opening the site last year. It carries an annual rent of £300,000 - equating to £6,000 per week. It is thought that bar took more than £250,000 in sales in the week before Christmas.

One industry source has claimed that the issues at the bar relate specifically to Scintillate, the downstairs nightclub which has been hosting R&B nights.
